Senior southpaw continued his dominant season on the mound Wednesday as he got his 3rd EBC win of the year going 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits and striking 7 Minerva batters.
After giving up a run in the first inning on a balk call with a runner on third base, Wilson went the rest of the way without giving up another and leading the Quakers to the sweep over Minerva and the 5th conference win on the season for Salem.
The Quaker offense struck back in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by freshman Darius Beck and and an error on the third basemen to give the Quakers a lead they would never relinquish.
That would be all the scoring in the game until the 6th inning when Sophomore second baseman Nick Coletta led off the inning with a double down the line and would later score on junior Dylan Sinkovich’s RBI single. The Quakers would add another insurance run in the seventh on a sac fly by freshman Blaise Exline scoring sophomore Lane Rhodes.
Salem evened their record to 8-8 on the year, 5-3 in the EBC and are back in action Friday night at Ray Reisbeck Field against United.
