With two outs & no runners on in the bottom of the 1st inning Rylie Troy hit her 3rd Dinger on the season on a full count shoulder high pitch. The Salem lineup would total 12 hits on the afternoon. (Sr) Hannah Kelm had three hits & an RBI. (So) Chase Toy doubled & singled with an RBI. (Jr) Rylie (Troy) & (So) Kylie (Skinner) rhymed their way to two hits a piece. (Jr) Jenna McClish & (Fr) Avery Carr each singled while (Fr) Lauryn Barton doubled with an RBI.

One of the things that was stressed prior to the season was being aggressive. Today the Lady Quakers were 3 for 3 in the stolen base department with Rylie Troy, Jenna McClish & Hannah Kelm each swiping a base. Lauryn Barton & Jenna McClish each put down important sac bunts. As predicted Bella Brant leads the team in hit by pitches with another on the evening. We don’t teach anyone to do this & find it quite un-natural to not try to get out of the way.

Rylie Troy pitched a very fine game striking out 5, allowing 5 hits & walking just 1 on a full count. In the middle of the game she retired 9 straight batters as her changeup kept hitter’s timing off.

The win pushed Coach Mike to the most career wins at Salem passing Coach Conser.

Senior night is scheduled for this Monday at Southeast Elementary vs East Liverpool 5pm (weather permitting).
