It wasn’t pretty but a 4 run 5th inning led to a 7-4 victory over Lisbon at Rey Reisbeck field on Thursday, making it two in a row for the Quakers.

Junior pitcher Seth Seddon only gave up 1 hit on the mound but control problems led to 3 Lisbon runs and pitch count forced him to leave the game in the 5th with 2 outs and a 1 run lead. That lead was promptly given up as Lisbon ties the game on a swinging bunt with the bases loaded.

The Quakers answered with a 4 spot in the bottom half of the inning, capped off by a 3 run home run by junior Joey Watson with 2 outs to give Salem the lead for good.

Senior pitcher Josh Young got the win coming on in relief and junior Ricky Enlow got the save. Senior Adam Wilson led the team with two hits.

The Quakers improve to 2-1 on the season (1-1 in conference) and will host the United Eagles on Friday night in Salem.
