The Salem Lady Quakers took on some of the best Division II cross country programs the state has to offer at the Boardman Spartan Invitational. On a warm afternoon, Salem finished 6th in a loaded 35 team field in the Division II race. Carly Hall lead the Lady Quakers as she placed second (19:25) overall in the 285 varsity runner field. Rounding out the Lady Quakers scoring was Molly Hopple (35th-21:14), Kami Rohm (78th-22:40), Halle Cochran (88th-22:58) and Clara Double (93rd-23:03). Wining the girls team title was #3 state ranked St. Vincent St. Mary. Salem’s performance was enough to top state ranked #10 Edgewood. Other state ranked teams included #12 Minerva (4th overall), #13 Poland (3rd overall), and #15 Woodridge (2nd overall). The Lady Quakers have a quick turnaround as they will find themselves racing again this Tuesday in the Columbiana County meet at Columbiana High School.
