It took a while but for the second time this season, the Quakers offense exploded by putting up more than 20 runs in a run away victory over United.

Salem trailed 6-3 heading into the 5th inning but couldn’t be contained any longer. The Quakers put up 3 runs in the 5th to tie things up at 6 a piece and followed that up with 9 more in the 6th and 6 more in the 7 to win by a score of 21-6 ending with 18 unanswered runs.

The Quakers used 4 different pitchers as it was their 4th game in as many days to combine for the win. Pitcher Bryce Owen got the win for Salem, going 2 2/3 innings giving up 1 hit and allowing 2 runs.

Salem senior Braydon Gibson led the way for the Quakers high powered offense racking up 4 hits including 3 extra base hit and 5 RBI’s. Adam Wilson collected 3 hits of his own, including a solo home run in the 3rd inning. 4 other Quakers had multiple hits including Jake Maenz, Bryce Owen, Lane Rhodes and Turner Johnson.

Salem is now 5-2 on the season (1-2 in the conference) and will host LaBrae tomorrow at home at 1:00pm.
