Quakers gets more hits, but not more runs in 8-6 loss to Crest view
Quakers lost 8-6 in seven innings on Friday, despite outhitting Crest view nine to seven.
It was a good day at the plate for Quakers’ Tony Maniscalco. Maniscalco went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
The top of the first saw Quakers take an early lead, 3-0. Keaton Turney kicked things off for Quakers with a single. Quakers added more runs when Wilms and Jenkins scored on a two-run single by Nate Noles.
Crest view never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring seven runs on four doubles and a groundout by T Fitzsimmons.
One run in the top of the third helped Quakers close its deficit to 7-4. A passed ball fueled Quakers’ comeback. But, Dickey got Noah Richards to ground out to end the inning.
Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Quakers close its deficit to 8-6. A groundout by Turney and an RBI double by Trace Jenkins set off Quakers rally. Finally, Lindsay got Richards to strike out to end the game.
