Quakers drops 13-6 game to East Palestine

Quakers lost 13-6 to East Palestine Saturday at Salem despite Cooper Bezeredi’s two-hit day at the dish.

Bezeredi led Quakers’ offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Fristik, Kimmel and Guy helped lead East Palestine. They combined for six hits and seven RBIs.

East Palestine never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Guy and a groundout by Telischak.

East Palestine increased its lead with five runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Guy doubled, scoring Elliot. That was followed up with a steal of home by Guy.

A three-run third inning helped bring Quakers within four. An RBI single by Bezeredi, an error, and an RBI single by Trace Jenkins fueled Quakers’ comeback. But, Huddleston got Noah Richards to to end the inning.

East Palestine added three more runs in the top of the fifth. A error scored Fristik for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Kimmel’s single, bringing home Telischak.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, Quakers faced just a 11-6 deficit. A two-run single by Jenkins triggered Quakers’ comeback. East Palestine stopped the rally after Huddleston got Richards to strike out.
